Sustainability

We truly believe that sustainability doesn´t have to „get in the way“ of production or make it much more harder or more expensive.

At Cuba Films, we’re passionate about producing creative content while caring for our planet at the same time. Sustainability stands as a cornerstone of our operations, with a consistent focus on minimizing CO₂ emissions, implementing reduction strategies, and engaging in offsetting efforts over recent years. Cuba Films is proud member of Green Bid and our office received the European Green Office certification 2023.

So let me guess, you think green production is expensive, time consuming and quality-compromising? Well think again, as our client, you can trust us to handle it all without sacrificing any aspect.

Simply put, the key to sustainable production without extra costs, time or quality loss is smart decisions and good habits. We've thought about everything, so you don't have to.

While each production is unique in scale, type, and location specifics, our approach to eco-friendly and sustainable filming remains constant.

„3 Billion Trees“

While we know there’s no perfection in green production, we commit to doing our best. To offset any missteps, we plant trees after every shoot. We have set up form of co- operations with Forest Owners Association, which is dedicated to sustainable forest management and renewing forests and rewilding unused lands.  Our three planting initiative is part of European Union „3 Billion Trees“ Programme, highlighting our involvement in broader environmental efforts and keep Mother Earth smiling.

Green production

The Estonian audiovisual industry has historically embraced ecological practices, driven by budget constraints that naturally promote resource-efficient and economical workflows. Our projects thrive on the principles of a circular economy, utilizing rentals, subcontracting and outsourcing to maintain sustainability. However, we recognize the ongoing need for action to address the challenges posed by the climate crisis Given the audiovisual industry’s agility in adopting technological advances and innovative working methods, we believe transitioning to more sustainable operations can be seamless. This shift requires heightened awareness, a change in mindset, conscious decision-making, and, importantly, your support. One production at a time, we can adapt to new ways of working.

Team work

Teamwork is the core of our industry and in utilising it, we can make sustainabilityas the standard in audiovisual production. While each production is unique in scale, type, and location specifics, our approach to eco-friendly and sustainable filming remains constant. We truly believe that sustainability doesn´t have to „get in the way“ of production or make it much more harder or more expensive. With strategic planning and by fallowing general principles of reducing, reusing, and recycling, alongside with knowing what ethical choices to make, we can enhance value and make releva
