SKIN

SKIN

Logline:
A troubled burlesque performer seemingly meets her match in an obsessive, untameable man. But as new desire gives way to cold, simmering resentment, their secret lives threaten to intersect in a combustive way.

Synopsis:
Set in the backstreets of East London, SKIN follows Dolly, a sensual but scarred burlesque dancer, and her partner Wolf, whose descent into illegal trafficking and abusive behaviour threatens to destroy them both. Blending realism with magic, the film explores trauma, addiction, and redemption through haunting visions and repressed memories.

Visual Style:
Dreamlike realism and noir aesthetics, inspired by Aftersun, Naked and Blue Velvet. The world flickers between gritty London cabaret clubs and soft, imagined spaces of healing and fantasy.

Themes:
Gendered violence, trauma recovery, ghostly memory, queer love, societal power imbalances.
